Founded in 2007 by two professionals of the cinema and high-tech industries, Jean Mizrahi (CEO) and Christophe Lacroix (Deputy CEO), Ymagis SA (Ymagis Group) is a "société anonyme" (French limited company) with a Board of Directors.). Georges Garic became the Group’s Deputy CEO in January 2016.

Registered in the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number B 499 619 864, the Company has been listed on the NYSE Euronext market in Paris (ISIN: FR0011471291 – MNEMO: MAGIS – Eligible PEA-PME) since its initial public offering on 7 May 2013. It is headquartered at 61 Boulevard Macdonald, 75019 Paris and has its administrative offices at 40 Rue Gabriel Crié, 92240 Malakoff.

The Group is the European specialist in digital technologies for the film and audiovisual industry. Ymagis initially generated revenue through the implementation of VPF (Virtual Print Fees) linked to the financing and leasing of digital cinema equipment in France and Europe based on the model created in the USA in 2005. The Group then set about diversifying its activities.

The Group has an extensive client portfolio and offers innovative solutions to cinema exhibitors, distributors (film and live events) and advertising departments, production companies, rights holders, broadcasters and OTT media services, video editors and SVOD platforms.

Over the last few years, the Group has expanded its services and its geographical footprint, setting up centres and offices mainly in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The Group currently has 63 companies in 21 countries, 17 of which are in Europe (France, Austria, Belgium, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, Croatia, Hungary, Luxembourg, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia and Switzerland) and the remainder in the USA, United Arab Emirates, Morocco and Turkey.

Today, Ymagis has four business units:

  1. CinemaNext for exhibitor services (equipment distribution, sale and installation, maintenance, servicing and online management of equipment and consumables for cinemas, particularly pertaining to image and sound);
  2. Eclair for content services (mastering and content delivery, digital distribution, preservation, restoration, versioning and accessibility);
  3. VPF for financing services to help purchase projection equipment based on two models - third-party collector or third-party investor;
  4. Illucity for virtual reality activities, either via franchise contracts for the operation of FEC (Family Entertainment Centres) and LBE (Location-Based Entertainment) centres or cinema multiplexes, or by running its own centres.

The Group generated total revenues of 166.9 million euros through its four business units in 2018. It employs over 800 full-time staff.
